On a separate note, I think it is finally time to address the contest parameters. The contest has entered the playoffs 4 of the last 5 years after ending in the regular season for almost 10 years straight. More "elite" NFL teams, more doormats, and participant experience have all contributed to contests getting extended beyond the regular season.

Let's all put on our thinking caps on how to proceed. My wish is not to change the core of the contest, but also realize that this needs to be addressed.

After 17 weeks of the regular season and 1 week of playoffs, KOH 250 has ended. We ended the regular season with 5 ptp's, Aleibel, Bluetits1, enileator, perlmjo, rosie still alive.

Each took something for their troubles at the end of the regular season. Both Bluetits1 and enileator took DAL and won, the other 3 lost and the 2 subsequently agreed to split the balance and end the KOH 250 contest. Congrats to all.

The KOH 100 ended the regular season with 18 ptps, each decided to take a small amount and play for the balance. We now have 5 ptps deciding their future.

While the decision on how to move forward continues in KOH100, I wanted to take the time to outline pick selection in the playoffs.

• At the start of the playoffs, all pick selections are wiped clean.
• Same as regular season, you may only select a team once.
• Win and continue, lose and you are out.

One difference between the playoffs and the regular season is that it is possible to run out of teams in the playoffs (only for SuperBowl game). You must manage your teams as you see fit. IF the contest reaches the SB with more than one participant still alive, and one has a team to choose, and the other does not, the one without a selection left would be eliminated. This is because they would reach the selection deadline and be unable to make a pick.

I will be out of town Dec 27 - Dec 31. In the event that there is another large upset this week and participants are looking to end the pool (either KOH100 or KOH250) or perhaps take something off the table, someone pls start a post to start off the discussion and we will take it from there. As always, I will serve as the moderator, but I may only be able to check in 1-2 times a day, so pls keep that in mind.

If we enter Week 17, there may be a small glitch in the programming to deal with. It may or not happen (the glitch) and will not impact pick submission, deadlines or anything else, just the display of information. It has to do with the games being played in 2010, a new calendar year. If it does occur, the info may be unavailable for a bit as I reformat the data.

If we exit Week 17 with no conclusion to the contest(s), we will enter the playoffs with pick submission wiped clean.
